The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association said the 2019 United States Championship Cheese Contest (USCCC) is now open for entries. Hosted biennially since 1981, the USCCC will mark its 20th anniversary in 2019.

Entries in a total of 107 classes will be judged on technical merits, the Madison, Wis.-based association said, including flavor, body, texture, salt, color, finish and packaging. Judging will take place Mar. 5-7 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis.

For 2019, the USCCC added new contest classes for traditional waxed cheddars, natural rinded cheddar, other hard cheeses with natural rinds, and burrata.

The entry deadline is Jan. 31, 2019. For more information or to enter, visit https://www.uschampioncheese.org/.
