Membrane technology event celebrated its 25th anniversary with record attendance

Dairy Foods and Filtration & Membrane World LLC have been partners for eight years.

    June 27, 2013

This year's Practical Membrane Technology Short Course (or PMTSC) drew record attendance, an increase of 52% from 2012. Dairy Foods and Filtration & Membrane World LLC have partnered to produce this event for eight years.

The 25th annual Practical Membrane Technology Short Course was held June 5 to 7 in Bloomington Minn. The course focused on the basics of membrane technology and process design as well as new membrane technologies, materials and applications. In addition, participants took guided facility tours of Ecolab, GEA and GE Power & Water.

“The vocational part of this event was sold out, which gives our attendees a unique chance to get up close and personal with new and existing membrane products and processes from some of the leading companies is this field," said Sefa Koseoglu, president of Filtration & Membrane World LLC.

“The Practical Membrane Technology Short Course is a great resource for professionals in dairy, beverage, food processing, functional ingredients and bioactives industries looking for new methods to eliminate process bottlenecks, enhance efficiency and offer new products to increase their profitability," said Dairy Foods' Publisher Tom Imbordino. "Opportunities in these areas are broadening, that’s why we’ve continued to see year-over-year growth of this conference.”

Industry experts came together for this annual event to share their knowledge and expertise in an interactive forum, allowing participants to get the most out of their experience. This year, for the first time, PMTSC broadcast three hours of presentation live over the Internet. More than 200 professionals from over 20 countries signed on to watch this “virtual extension” of the short course.

“To meet the growing needs and opportunities in these areas, we’ll be expanding next year’s event with even more content and presentation choices," Imbordino said.

The 2014 dates and location will be announced soon.
