    New Film Introduced
Seal-It Inc. has introduced Plastic Suppliers’ EarthFirst® TDO Shrink film, to its existing group of shrink films, PVC, PETG and OPS. The new film, made from with Natureworks® PLA corn-based resin, is not petroleum based and is environmentally friendly and compostable. It is heat shrinkable and suitable for any shrink sleeve label project. For the past 20 years, Seal-It has manufactured shrink labels and tamper-evident bands from PVC, PETG & OPS. EarthFirst has many of the same properties as other films including excellent machineability, clarity, printability (can be printed to 10 colors in rotogravure or modified flexographic), and shrinkage (up to 75 percent). — Seal-It Inc., 70 Schmitt Blvd., Farmingdale, N.Y., 11735, phone: (516) 935-3965, fax: (516) 935-3967, e-mail: info@sealitinc.com
    Unique Low-Profile Conveyor
Conveyor Technologies will demonstrate a unique “open side” low-profile conveyor stand at Pack Expo 2006, providing the fastest belt change in the industry — two minutes or less on small to medium-size conveyors. On large conveyors, the quick-change design allows 95 percent or better time savings. The innovative design can save 45 minutes to two hours in downtime on belt changes compared to a conventional stand mounting, along with avoiding thousands of dollars in lost production on an unplanned change. The system also permits “open” tiered mounting of multiple conveyors up to 12 inches wide. The quick-change configuration, utilizing the high strength and rigidity of Conveyor Technologies’ steel conveyor frame and mount, allows cantilever-style mounting to just one side of the stand, eliminating obstructions to slide-off/slide-on belt removal and installation. — Conveyor Technologies Ltd., 440 Milford Parkway, Milford, Ohio, 45150, phone: (513) 248-0663, fax: (513) 248-0685, e-mail: sales@conveyortechltd.com, Web site: www.conveyortechltd.com
    Labeling System
Food, medical and consumer product manufacturers can now select the latest in labeling technology for their packaging lines. The new Multivac 6000 Cross Web Labeling System features a redesigned dispensing head for optimal sanitation, easier operation with touch panel display, and increased cycle speeds to accelerate production by as much as 33 percent. Multivac constantly works with its customers to determine what the current needs are for labeling systems in food, medical and consumer product packaging facilities. The Multivac 6000 is a product of intense customer focus. The Multivac 6000’s state-of-the-art design also ensures lower maintenance costs.  The system applies a wide range of label sizes and can be used for RFID label placement. —Multivac Inc., 11021 N.W. Pomona Ave., Kansas City, Mo., 64153, phone: (816) 891-0555, fax: (816) 891-0622, Web site: www.multivac.com
    Spiral Process Mixer
The Series P Spiral Process Mixer from TAH is designed to provide the highest quality end result to CPI, waste and waste-water processing applications, whether it’s mixing adhesive coatings, correcting pH balances, or processing waste sludge. These stainless- and carbon-steel static mixers are designed for applications requiring higher flow rates and installations requiring 2- to 30-inch diameter piping. With exceptional heat and mass transfer properties, the Series P mixers allow for the flexibility needed — depending on the pressure drop needed, flow rates, pipe diameters and number of mixing elements can all be changed. The Series P can even be used in-line to maintain a homogenized cross-section of blended chemicals, making separation a problem of the past. The Series P line features low shear, continuous in-line units, making easier, more cost-saving work of all types of chemical blending and additive introductions. Complete turbulent flow mixing at low-pressure drops is another primary feature of the Series P. — TAH Industries Inc., 8 Applegate Drive, Robbinsville, N.J., 08691, phone: (609) 259-9222, fax: (609) 259-0957, e-mail: info@tah.com, Web site: www.tah.com
    Multi-Pack Shrink Wrapper
Polypack has introduced a packaging alternative for the dairy industry. The specialized dairy shrink-wrapping and packaging equipment has many advantages. The company says its clients have seen huge savings with bundling; savings on materials, inventory space, labor, and time. The DAIRY24 system increases packaging efficiency. Key features include a rugged, stainless-steel, single-piece design; a thermostatically controlled, energy-efficient heat tunnel; packaging versatility ranging from two to 24 packs; speed of 30 wraps per minute; and integrated diagnostics with color touch screen. — Polypack Inc., 3301 Gateway Centre Blvd.,  Pinellas Park, Fla., 33782, phone:  (727) 578-5000, fax: (727) 578-1300, e-mail: info@polypack.com, Web site: www.polypack.com
    New Shrink Bundling System
Lantech will introduce its new SB-2030 shrink bundling system, featuring the energy saving, PLC-controlled ConvectAir™ shrink tunnel, at Pack Expo 2006. With its tunnel and wrapping module combined on a unitized frame less than 12 feet long, the SB-2030 is almost 25 percent shorter than conventional machines in its class. The machine shrink wraps up to 30 transport packs per minute with low energy consumption and consistent “bull’s-eye” placement. It is ideal for any product shipped on corrugated trays, pads, U-boards or with film only, such as canned goods, beverages, ice cream, household chemicals and cleaners, and many others. The belt-fed SB-2030 accommodates products up to 24 inches wide by 12 inches high to any practical length. It utilizes a cradle-type film delivery system for convenient loading from the side without the need for mandrels. Positive film feed via nip roller allows flying splices from the end of one roll to the start of the next to virtually eliminate film waste. The SB-2030 utilizes Lantech’s Ever-Clean™ cross seal system for reliable, maintenance-free operation. The new ConvectAir shrink tunnel combines convection and radiant heating with a minimal flow of recirculating air produced by variable speed fan. — Lantech.com, 11000 Bluegrass Parkway, Louisville, Ky., 40299-2399, phone: (800) 866-0322, Web site: www.lantech.com
