New washdown stations from Spirax Sarco Inc., Blythewood, S.C., provide instantaneous hot water economically and safely by blending steam and cold water to the required set temperatures. The STVM Dual Mix washdown stations can be used for washing down walls, floors, and process equipment. The equipment has brass/stainless steel construction with a safety shutdown feature.
The dual-output system allows steam and water pressures to operate without changing components. This improves efficiency and reduces risk. The dual outlet gives the user the ability to feed two different sources with one mixing unit. This feature reduces energy costs because the units are capable of producing hot water for washdown as well as providing a secondary source of hot water for other uses.
Maintenance is simple with the STVM Dual Mix washdown stations. The mixing valve cartridge reduces the effects of scaling and mineral buildup. The cartridge can be removed with a standard, 1½-nch open-ended wrench.
