The RB Dwyer Group, Anaheim, Calif., installed an IVCO (Infinitely Variable Cylinder Web Offset) press in its Wilkes Barre, Pa., facility. This press is a first of its kind for Dwyer and the only one in North America doing shrink sleeve labels. This state-of-the-art technology will expand Dwyer’s ability to meet the growing needs of its customers using shrink sleeve technology with shorter lead times and lower minimums at more competitive prices. This new, innovative technology, provides the highest quality printing comparable to rotogravure with no tooling costs. It allows for quick changeovers for variable repeat lengths. Customers can be assured of an expanded gamut of colors and tonal gradations to 1% color density with the ability to control process printing. The customer receives greater flexibility in printing multiple SKUs and the option to change label graphics more frequently without the cost of rotogravure cylinders. In addition, the use of UV inks offers optimal print quality and a more sustainable product.
