    Jim Page Memorial Scholarship announced

    November 26, 2008

The American Dairy Products Institute (ADPI) is proud to announce the creation of the ADPI Jim Page Memorial Scholarship.

The ADPI Jim Page Memorial Scholarship was created in memory of James J. Page, who enjoyed a distinguished marketing career in the dairy industry and demonstrated exceptional leadership skills while serving as the Chief Executive Officer of ADPI from 2002 through 2008.

This scholarship is awarded to the dependent of an employee or to an employee whose company is a member of ADPI. The scholarship is a one year grant, of a minimum of $1,000. The recipient of this scholarship should be currently in good standing academically at an accredited college or university and must have/maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 using the standard 4.0 scale. This award may be used for any educational expenses that a student may have in furthering his/her education. (Such as, but not limited to: tuition, books, room & board etc.)

The recipient of the scholarship will be announced at the ADPI/ABI Annual Conference held in Chicago each year.

Jim Page, had a successful career in the dairy industry spanning more than 30 years. Prior to working for ADPI, Jim held positions with Dean Foods, Kraft Foods and Pet Dairy. He was instrumental in developing several leading brands, including Milk Chugs and Moosetracks ice cream.

Jim received recognition for his financial and marketing savvy and was named Marketer of the Year by Advertising Age in 1998 for his contributions to the development and execution of Dean's Milk Chug beverage program. He also was named one of the top 100 marketers in America and received the Golden Cone award for excellence in frozen dessert products.

The application deadline for the 2009 scholarship is Feb. 13, 2009. A copy of the application can be downloaded here and also found on the ADPI Web site at www.adpi.org. If you have any questions or would like to make a contribution to the scholarship fund please contact Steve Griffin at sgriffin@adpi.org or at (630) 530-8700 x226.
