    Buyers Mart: Plant Equipment

    March 1, 2007
A new Centri-Sifter centrifugal screener model “GO” from Kason Corp. features a cantilevered shaft with two externally-mounted bearings between the screening chamber and motor drive, allowing all internals to slide freely from the shaft end for cleaning, screen changes or inspection. Wide spacing between the bearings, a large diameter shaft and a flexible shaft coupling combine to prevent vibration, even at high speeds under heavy, imbalanced loads, according to the company.

Wide spacing between the bearings, a large diameter shaft and a flexible shaft coupling combine to prevent vibration, even at high speeds under heavy, imbalanced loads, according to the company. The new screener is intended for applications requiring thorough wash-down, as well as other applications involving frequent screen changes/inspections or runs of multiple materials where cross-contamination is of concern.

    Gamajet

Axon, a division of Pro Mach, introduced its EZ-SEAL 400SL heat shrinkable sleeve labeling system. EZ-Seal 400SL provides customers with the flexibility and production capabilities to handle full body and tamper evident banding applications. The 400SL applies both tamper evident bands and full body sleeves to round and non-round containers ranging from 1-1/4 inches to 4-3/4 inches in diameter at speeds in the 400 packages per minute range. The 400SL also features tool-less changeover to allow quick and easy set up.

Designed specifically for cleaning food grade OTR tankers, the Gamajet 88 incorporates  two Gamajet E-Z8 spinners positioned to focus wash streams directly at the  bulkheads. The angle of the spinners ensures a 90-degree angle of impingement  at the bulkheads for best cleaning effect. Cleaning 360 degrees on every rotation,  the 88 eliminates residual materials and the potential for bacterial growth.  The unit fits through standard manways and requires the same pressure and flow  as a conventional spinner.

    American Conveyor

Heinkel has developed a skid mounted Horizontal Peeler Laboratory sized unit  with 250mm bowl for the increasing demands of modern test laboratories, pilot  plants and small-scale production in foodstuff industry. The unit has been  designed to operate the centrifuge with the same filter cake thickness as on  a production size machine to give exact scale-up results for all process steps  of filling, spinning, washing and discharging.

Unitizing loads can reduce load-out time, labor costs, equipment, and worker’s  compensation claims. American Conveyor’s all-stainless de-unitizers allow  operators to pick product from floor storage with a clamp truck and place the  unitized load on one of two de-unitizers. Stacks of product are single-filed  and conveyed to one of eight high-speed pick lanes for load-out by a series  of automatically selected divert gates.  Ideal for dairies with direct  store delivery routes, the system moves unitized loads without the need for  palletizing or having operators drag stacks of full crates to an in-floor conveyor  on the way to load-out.

    A-B-C

A-B-C’s Model 101 case packer makes light work packing of heavy thin  wear plastic jug containers with handles. This automated pick-and-place case  packer incorporates claw clamp grippers and stabilizers that handle the full  container’s weight, while providing no-drop transport. By providing total  container control, the case packer is able to pack rectangular and square containers,  placing them in the partitioned case cells. As containers reach the packing  area, individual claw clamp grippers engage the handle of each container in  the case load. Product stabilizers offer added support. The servo controlled  packing arm lifts the product load and automatically aligns it with the case  partition cells, separating and spacing the containers before they enter the  case. The load is lowered, with the containers reaching the bottom of the case  before release.

    U.S. Door

Match a project’s color scheme with any of U.S. Door & Building Components  roll-up doors with a “color-ring” of paint representing each of  the company’s 22 standard pre-coated door paint colors.  These 2-in  metal chips provide actual pre-painted coils that are used in the manufacture  of commercial and self-storage roll-up doors. The color-ring eliminates guesswork  often associated with looking at printed literature for color matches.

    BETE

BETE has expanded the range of the Twist & Dry series with the new TD-K.  A new high-pressure backup ring on the TD body raises capacity from 3,500 psi  to 10,000 psi for operating conditions up to 450° F. The modified design  provides greater yield capacity and safe, leak-proof operation at 10,000 psi.  BETE developed this addition to the TD series in response to dryer operators  who wanted to increase yield by operating at higher pressures. The new high-pressure  TD nozzle provides customers the opportunity to increase productivity.

Lantech’s RS-6000 20-second stretch wrapping system is capable of wrapping  loads with 50-gal film, pre-stretched 250% or more-without film breaks.  The system satisfies mass merchandisers who want more SKUs in their warehouses,  wider brand selection on their shelves and faster turnover of smaller inventories.  Rotating at 60 rpm, the new film delivery system is all-mechanical, eliminating  the most significant shortcoming of a ring-mounted film delivery system, the  company claims.
