    Industry Editorial: Launches and LINX

    A lot of new opportunities for dairy processors in the coming months, both from the industry at large and from our neck of the woods here at Dairy Foods.

    A lot of new opportunities for dairy processors in the coming months, both from the industry at large and from our neck of the woods here at Dairy Foods.

    In the news this month, Dallas-based Dean Foods is creating a new branded products subsidiary that combines its value-added divisions. Horizon Organic, Silk, and the Dean Branded products division that includes brands like Hershey's, Folger's Jakada, International Delight and Sun Soy will become a wholly-owned, but autonomously operated outfit based in Boulder, Colo.     Our September issue also features a preview of a brand new show for the beverage industry-BevExpo. We've been sharing the news since last fall, when the organizers of the Worldwide Food Expo unveiled their plans to jump into the beverage show arena. See you in Tampa later this month!

    Pack Expo rolls into Chicago in early November, so this month we also offer a preview and a story on packaging material innovations that will be on display at the show. If you will attend Pack Expo, take a look, and start thinking about how you can apply these new packaging ideas to your dairy products.

    Next month we at Dairy Foods will launch our new international issue. It's the first time in many years that we have focused an entire issue on the world market, and we're expecting it to become a regular part of our annual coverage. We're excited about it and we hope you will be too.
