Groupe Danone, has broken off talks on purchasing the controlling stake of the Russian company WimmBillDunn Foodstuffs, a leading producer of dairy products and juices.

The talks on the controlling stake of WimmBillDunn, a corporation whose value is estimated at around a billion U.S. dollars, continued for over two years. Sources say the talks have ended failure, as the sides were unable to bridge their differences over company's structure, price, strategies, and prospects for the incumbent Russian management.

They said, however, the process might resume next year.

Founded in 1992, WimmBillDunn is one of most established food companies in Russia. It operates a network of 24 factories in 17 Russian cities.
