DBIA awards $2.3M in grants to 26 companies

This year’s awardees hail from all 11 states served by DBIA.

Processors in 11 states can apply for Dairy Business Builder grants

The reimbursement grants of up to $100,000 each aim to support recipients in diversifying on-farm activity, creating value-added products, enhancing dairy byproducts, and creating or enhancing dairy export programs.

On Nov. 11, the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA), Madison, Wis., applauded USDA’s announcement of $20.2 million in support for the Dairy Business Innovation Initiative, including $6.13 million for a program administered by WCMA and the Center for Dairy Research (CDR).

USDA announced that the Center for Dairy Research (CDR) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) were awarded $6.13 million to support continuation of the Dairy Business Innovation Alliance (DBIA), serving Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

The global cosmetics market is undergoing a major shift towards the use of natural bioactive ingredients as consumers grow more skeptical of traditional formulations and demand greater transparency and sustainability.

Reverse osmosis (RO) membranes are well established in dairy processing but continue to evolve to improve performance, reduce energy use, and increase operational longevity.
