Two truckloads of surplus milk donations arrived last week at Southern California's Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County from KanPak U.S.’s dairy production facility in Kansas.

The Kroger Co. announced the launch of an expanded Dairy Rescue Program designed to support children and families during the COVID-19 pandemic through the summer months.

Georgia’s dairy farmers, along with Kroger Atlanta Division and Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), have come together to deliver milk from the farm to the front lines.

As the coronavirus, or COVID-19, continues to spread, the Novi, Mich.-based Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA) said it remains steadfast in its mission to market members’ milk to the greatest advantage possible while taking actions to protect the health and safety of its communities.

The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina and World Central Kitchen helped Borden distribute 45,000 servings of whole, 2% and chocolate milk.

Together, they donated $26,000 worth of milk for the Food Bank Council of Michigan.

The effort represents a partnership among the American Dairy Association North East, MilkPEP, Shoppers Food & Pharmacy and local food banks.
