Cultured dairy is booming, led by soaring yogurt and cottage cheese sales, according to Circana data. Sour cream and cream cheese showed mixed results, though several brands posted standout gains across key cultured dairy segments.
The new design system reflects Walmart’s ongoing investment in its private brands and its commitment to evolving alongside customer preferences. For example, last fall Walmart announced its goal to remove synthetic dyes from its food private brands by January 2027.
Since 2022, the show has increased 35% in exhibiting companies and 31% in participating retailers, wholesalers and other visitors. Over 60 countries were represented at the 2025 Show in Chicago, most of them appearing in 54 national pavilions. Overall, more than 1,900 exhibiting companies occupied over 3,000 booths.
Cheese sales growth, while not explosive, continues to show steady year-over-year gains. For the 52 weeks ending Jan. 25, the natural cheese category saw a 2% increase in dollar sales to $21 billion and a 2% rise in unit sales to 5.2 billion, according to Circana.
Milk consumption appears to be rebounding, with the Dairy Milk category seeing a 3% increase in dollar sales to $17.7 billion. Similarly, the Refrigerated White Dairy Milk subcategory reported a 3% rise to $15.8 billion. While unit sales remained flat, this growth in revenue suggests a renewed consumer interest in milk.
Store brand dollar sales increased nearly three times the rate of national brands, climbing 3.3%, compared to a gain of only 1.2% for their national brand counterparts for the 52 weeks ending December 28, 2025.
The event drew upwards of 14,000, including retailers, exhibitors, visitors, and industry professionals from across the private label and retail sectors. The exciting and engaging Show floor provided one-stop-sourcing of new and innovative foods and nonfoods.

During the past several years, the phrase “a win is a win” has been uttered by many athletes, often in reference to winning a game or a match without a dominant performance. The phrase can be aptly applied to the overall frozen novelty category.
