Job Summary

Drive site operational performance in accordance with Hilmar Cheese Company's core values to ensure products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objective while maintaining the highest possible level of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications 

Education:

• English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write and speak English
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related science or business field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of management experience in the dairy industry

Technical Knowledge:

• Computer Proficient
• Strategic knowledge of production operations management for quality, yield and cost
• Advanced knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management
• New equipment implementation through vender facilitation and training

Competencies

• Assist Company officers and senior staff members in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objective
• Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards that conform to established customer and company quality standards
• Formulate and recommend operation policies and programs that guided the organization in maintaining and improving its profitability and competitive position
• Direct and monitor department managers to accomplish goals consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures
• Act as liaison between department management/subordinate levels, as well as, executive/department manager levels to inform personnel with communications, decision, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results
• Hire, train, develop and evaluate staff, Achieve optimum employee levels, Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with the Company policy, Consult with Human Resources Department as appropriate
• Ensure compliance with current federal, state and local regulations
• Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce waste.  Direct the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards
• Direct and coordinate various programs essential to manufacturing procedure (e.g., training, safety, environmental management, GMP’s, cost reduction, employee involvement, security, etc.)
• Initiate and coordinate major projects (e.g., installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.)
• Work effectively and relate well with others, Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others, Maintain constructive working relationships
• Keep current on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure compliance
• Promote Company Culture
• Achieve common business goals through cooperative alignment with all departments.
