More Than A Dollop of Yogurt in This Week's FSIs

    By James Carper
    August 22, 2011

Dannon, Yoplait, Moutain High and Marie's tout their yogurt products in this week's free-standing inserts, along with cheesemakers Kraft and Saputo.

FSI report for the week beginning Aug. 21, 2011

Yogurts dominate this week's free-standing inserts. Dannon calls its nonfat Oikos brand "possibly the best yogurt in the world." Shoppers are asked to "like us on Facebook."

Mountain High directs readers online for "hundreds of recipes." The yogurt makers calls its food "your secret ingredient for healthier recipes."

General Mills' Yoplait makes the claim "real fruit plus the goodness of yogurt."

Ventura Foods instructs readers to "lighten up . . . naturally!" with its Marie's creamy yogurt dressing, which is "naturally low-fat."

Saputo's Frigo Cheese Heads brand promotes the Cheese Heads/Family Cruise Vacation sweepstakes awarding five grand prize seven-night cruises for four guests on a Royal Caribbean ship, departing from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and $3,200 (valued at $8,052 each). One hundred first prizes are a DreamWorks Animation DVD 3-pack consisting of the following movies Penguins of Madagascar: Operation DVD Premiere, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon. Participants enter online.

Kraft Foods' Velveeta brand introduces its Cheesy Skillets "dinner kits" with the headline "Smite New Velveeta Cheesy Skillets and Smite A Feast Of Liquid Gold." The kits come in four flavors: cheeseburger mac, barbecue chicken, chichen and broccoli and nacho.
