Cacique, a Monrovia, Calif.-based company that manufactures Hispanic dairy products and other Hispanic food products, announced a new business name: Cacique Foods LLC.

The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) board of directors selected 12 individuals to be recognized next year at CheeseExpo in Milwaukee for their outstanding work in the dairy processing industry.

The 2022 CheeseExpo, which will take place April 12-14 at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee, will feature more industry education seminars and workshops to match a record number of exhibits for dairy processors.

The Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA) said it canceled its Private Label Trade Show in Rosemont, Ill. — scheduled for Jan. 30- Feb. 1, 2022 — due to the debilitating effects of COVID-19 on business travel.

The contest, which includes new and expanded categories, will be hosted by WCMA March 1-3 in Madison.

The Urgent Company, the Los Angeles-based consumer brands subsidiary of Berkeley, Calif.-headquartered Perfect Day, announced the acquisition of Coolhaus, a women-owned ice cream company, from Sunrise Strategic Partners, Boulder, Colo., and other shareholders.

Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) said it plans to discontinue operations at its Nashville, Tenn., Country Delite Farms manufacturing facility in February 2022.

Crailsheim, Germany-based Schubert Group said North America is one its most important export markets and is developing at a rate that is well above average. 

The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA), the U.S. Dairy Export Council (USDEC) and the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) applauded the passage of the Ocean Shipping Reform Act (OSRA) by the U.S. House of Representatives.
