Grassland Dairy Products Inc., the largest privately owned butter producer in North America, said it completed the acquisition of Chicago-based Medlee Foods LLC.
The program was launched in partnership with the Port of Oakland and will set up a new “pop-up” site at the port dedicated to easing the loading of empty containers with agricultural exports.

Dairy Management Inc. (DMI), Rosemont, Ill., said applications are being accepted for college scholarships that are awarded by America’s dairy farmers and importers through the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board (NDB).
To date, the program has prevented more than 337,000 tons of soil from erosion, resulting in nearly $3.3 million in cost avoidance for farmer partners who supply brands such as Oikos, Two Good and Horizon Organic.

The company also said it launched the R3 – Robust, Resilient, Reliable – ROI tool, a first-of-its-kind benchmarking tool for farmers that uses data to measure and predict the financial impact of regenerative practices.
The award honors an individual, group or organization for demonstrating outstanding leadership directed at enhancing food safety within the dairy products industry.

The awards were presented on Jan. 23 during Dairy Forum.
