    Newsline: Dean Foods Closes Door on Milk from Clones

    March 1, 2007
    Dean Foods, said last month it will refuse milk from cloned cows. The Food and Drug Administration gave preliminary approval to meat and milk from cloned animals and could grant final approval by the end of the year. Many organic dairies have also said they oppose milk from clones.

    Newsline: New Study Questions Environmental Benefits of Organics

    A recent British government report concludes that organic food may be no better for the environment than conventional produce and in some cases is contributing more to global warming than intensive agriculture.
    A comprehensive study of the environmental impact of food production found there was “insufficient evidence” to say organic farming has fewer ecological side-effects than other farming methods.
