Miura introduces industrial reverse osmosis systems for boiler feedwater treatment

Modular RO platforms target scale control and consistent steam generation in facilities with demanding water conditions.

Miura America Co. Ltd. announces the availability of Miura Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems, expanding the company's Complete Solutions and Lifecycle Partnerships portfolio to include high-purity water treatment. The industrial RO systems deliver consistent, low-TDS feedwater for steam boiler applications, reducing scale formation and improving long-term system efficiency. The systems integrate with Miura water softeners, boilers, control panels, and monitoring platforms, and will debut at AHR Expo 2026 in Las Vegas Feb. 2-4 at booth C902.

Miura RO systems are designed for facilities with challenging source water conditions, such as high total dissolved solids (TDS), elevated hardness levels, or specific contaminants that water softening alone cannot adequately address. By removing dissolved minerals, salts and impurities upstream of the boiler, reverse osmosis treatment reduces scale buildup, extends equipment life and supports consistent steam quality.

"For many operations, RO equipment can be a strong investment that increases real-world boiler efficiency through cleaner heat transfer surfaces and less blowdown loss while reducing water treatment chemical usage," says Andrew Turner, Miura’s vice president of engineering. "Introducing RO equipment that meshes with our existing ecosystem of equipment and service capabilities furthers differentiates Miura as a provider of next-generation steam solutions and represents our commitment as a lifecycle partner.”

Miura RO systems are designed to integrate seamlessly with Miura boiler systems and water treatment equipment, functioning as critical components within Miura's complete steam and water treatment ecosystem. The systems work seamlessly with MW water softener pretreatment systems and produce high-purity water suitable for Boilermate chemical treatment programs. Premium RO systems provide remote visibility via Miura Connect and Modbus integration to support plant system automation.

Miura RO systems are available in basic and premium configurations:

Basic Reverse Osmosis System features manual control with simplified dual-panel setup, rotameters, manual valves, and two elements per vessel in a horizontal configuration. This option is ideal for smaller installations with dedicated water treatment personnel.

Premium Reverse Osmosis System with Uptime includes Miura's intelligent control platform with 15-inch HMI touchscreen, comprehensive instrumentation (flow meters, pressure transmitters, temperature/pH/ORP sensors), automated diagnostic alerts, and integration with BP Panel and Miura Connect for remote visibility. This configuration is ideal for multi-boiler installations, prioritizing uptime and predictive maintenance.

Both system tiers feature a modular skid-mounted design for simplified installation and service, a high-recovery membrane configuration (75% recovery rate), an internal recycle system to improve efficiency, and corrosion-resistant stainless steel construction. Standard models range from 15 to 50 GPM, with scalable capacities up to 500 GPM available.

The RO system launch reinforces Miura's Complete Solutions and Lifecycle Partnerships strategy, which positions the company as a single point of accountability for boiler room equipment performance. Miura provides engineering support, installation coordination and ongoing service for water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, boilers, control panels and monitoring platforms.

"Miura’s RO systems fulfill a key role within our Complete Solution and Lifecycle Partnership strategy, removing difficult feedwater contaminants that traditional softeners or other filtration systems can’t capture,” says Jordan Zimmerman, Miura’s reverse osmosis system product manager. "With RO as part of our other robust water treatment and monitoring controls offerings, Miura is equipped to not just provide a boiler, but the entire train of equipment for your boiler room - from raw water to process steam, as well as the maintenance support to keep it running.”

Miura RO systems are available for order through Miura's direct sales and representative network.
