US dairies export cheese and powders to Asia, Central America, North Africa

Cooperatives Working Together, Arlington, Va. accepted nine requests for export assistance from Dairy Farmers of America, Michigan Milk Producers Association and Northwest Dairy Association (Darigold) who have contracts to sell 1.334 million pounds (605 metric tons) of Cheddar, Colby, Gouda, and Monterey Jack cheese, and 440,925 million pounds (200 metric tons) of whole milk powder to customers in Asia, Central America, and North Africa. The product has been contracted for delivery in the period from July 2015 through January 2016.

Mideast trade show, Gulfood Manufacturing, starts Oct. 27

The trade show Gulfood Manufacturing 2015 is said to be the Middle East’s biggest food manufacturing, ingredients, processing and packaging exhibition. It is running Oct. 27 to 29 at Dubai World Trade Center. This will be the second edition of the show, geared for the food industry in the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia region.

National pavilions include representation from more than 26 countries including Germany, Austria, China, Egypt, France, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, India, Italy, the USA and the UK. Local, regional and global trade professionals visiting the show are expected to exceed the 26,329 visitors from 156 countries recorded last year, while another 1,200 delegates will hear from an extensive line-up of international industry experts providing valuable insights at an extended series of conferences, workshops and niche exhibitions running concurrently with Gulfood Manufacturing.
