Milk Authenticity – Organic vs. Non-organic
With increasing concerns over contaminants in milk, many consumers are switching to organic milk. Sales have increased by 15-17 percent. With high product demand and the cost of organic milk ranging 25-100 percent more than conventional milk, the selling of conventional milk as organic is an attractive proposition to fraudsters. This online case study from PerkinElmer demonstrates a technique using ambient ionization mass spectrometry, provided by the AxION™ Direct Sample Analysis, for detecting such fraud.
