Diversified Technologies’ PEF (pulsed electric field) Pasteurization System does not alter the flavor or consistency of liquefied products since it pasteurizes these products in a chamber by employing brief pulses of very high voltage. The system achieves a >5 log bacteria kill without heat or chemicals and is suitable for juices, yogurt and other foods that can be pumped. Custom engineered to process from 50 liters/hour up to 10,000 liters/hour throughput, the system generates electrical pulses at up to 60 kV/cm field strength with power levels from 150 kW to 750 kW. Providing full control over pulse and frequency, PEF systems use less energy than conventional pasteurization methods.
