PBI-Dansensor has upgraded its leak detection systems for Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) with the LeakMatic II and LeakPointer II. Both utilize a state-of-the-art optical CO₂ sensor to detect package leaks that is faster and more responsive to detecting even trace amounts of CO₂. The optical sensor isn’t sensitive to the elevated CO₂ levels often found in a MAP food production environment, it can be ready to use in one minute, and it works in tandem with a new, advanced leak-testing algorithm that ensures accuracy of actual leaks in the MAP product. Both the LeakMatic II and LeakPointer II use a non-destructive testing technique that spots leaks without destroying packages.
