Stainless-Steel Hardware
The availability of stainless-steel cam lock hardware, which offers superior strength and a longer usable life than chrome or powder coated hardware, has been announced by Johnson Refrigerated Truck Bodies. Stainless hardware is an option for new truck bodies or can be used to replace rusted hardware on older truck bodies. Chrome-plated zinc diecast, the old standard hardware for refrigerated truck bodies, has been a constant source of corrosion, pitting and rust. With refrigerated truck bodies lasting longer than ever before, corroded hinges are no longer acceptable. Long-lasting stainless hardware is rust free and its polished satin finish remains attractive and dependable in constant use. The hardware has a lower silhouette due to the fact that it does not protrude beyond the walls as far as other hardware. In addition, the cam lock hardware has stainless-steel set screws and take-up adjustment, which increase or decrease the door gasket pressure. The use of nylon bushings at wear points increases hardware longevity. The new hardware is available in two, three and four-point cam locks with or without internal release. They are designed for coolers and freezers, industrial utility buildings, environmental enclosures, truck bodies and trailers and the commercial fishing industry. — Johnson Refrigerated Truck Bodies, 215 E. Allen St., Rice Lake, Wis., 54868, phone: (715) 234-7071, fax: (715) 234-4628, Web site: www.johnsontruckbodies.com
Taped Bag Loader
In designing a printer to retrofit to taped bag loaders (CodeAire, introduced mid-2004), Greydon completely rebuilt the taped bag loader in order to achieve reliable printing. The company then decided to make available a new washdown taped bag loader, BagAire, based on that rebuilt machine. BagAire uses taped, shingled bags from a box or on a roll and was created to meet the new stricter standards for washdown machinery in the meat and dairy industries. It is capable of achieving higher speeds with more accurate stopping control than other taped bag loaders on the market. When equipped with a CodeAire printer, date codes can be printed with perfect readability and accuracy. BagAire is available with or without a CodeAir printer, which can always be retrofit to the bagger. Approval for use in dairy applications is pending. — Greydon Inc., 391 Greendale Road, York, Pa., 17403, phone: (717) 848-3875, fax: (717) 843-6435, e-mail: info@greydon.com, Web site: www.greydon.com
