Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Inc. — Walt Freese has been appointed chief executive officer of the South Burlington, Vt.-based company. Freese, who has worked as the company’s marketing director for more than three years, will replace CEO Yves Couette at the end of the year.

Fristam Pumps USA — Dan Nelson has joined the Middleton, Wis.-based company as regional distribution manager responsible for Fristam’s distribution network in the Southwest United States.
P&O Cold Logistics — Rich Kappmeier has been appointed vice president of P&O’s western region and will be responsible for all California operations as well as the development of new business in the Pacific Northwest for the California–based company.
Rollprint Packaging Products Inc. — Dhuanne Dodrill has been named president and chief operating officer of the Addison, Ill.-based company.
Silliker Inc. — Pamela Meijer has joined the Homewood, Ill-based company as technical sales manager. Assigned to Silliker’s Stone Mountain, Ga., laboratory, Meijer will be responsible for sales and customer service activities in the Southwest region of the United States.
SPX Process Equipment — The Delavan, Wis.-based company has announced the return of John Sneeringer to the position of technical sales for Premier Mill, Reading, Pa. Sneeringer’s responsibilities include providing technical sales support, process training and equipment operation to Premier’s network of sales agents and existing customers.
Stoelting LLC — Chris Anderson has been appointed senior sales engineer for the Kiel, Wis.-based company’s process equipment division.
R&D SUPPLIERS
David Michael & Co. —Denis Blais and Jennifer Jacobs have been promoted to senior account manager for the Philadelphia-based company. Blais is responsible for sales in eastern Canada and Jacobs is responsible for sales in Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas.
Kemin Agri-Foods North America — Andrew Yersin has joined as product manager for pathogen reduction products, Fernando Valdez has been promoted to product manager for metabolic enhancement products, Stephanie Wilson has been promoted to product manager for feed stability products and Don Westerhaus has been promoted to product manager for forage products of the Des Moines, Iowa-based company.
SPI Polyols Inc. — Clement Opawumi has joined the New Castle, Del.-based company as senior food scientist for SPI Polyols’ applications research and technical services laboratory.
ASSOCIATIONS
Organic Center for Education and Promotion (OCEP) — Mark Davis has been appointed the Greenfield, Mass.-based association’s first chief executive officer. David Pimentel, professor of ecology and agricultural sciences at Cornell University and Alan Greene of Stanford University have been appointed to OCEP’s board of directors.  
Organic Trade Association (OTA) — Maria Morgan, president of Small Planet Foods, has been named to the Greenfield, Mass.-based association’s board of directors.
OBITUARIES
Chr. Hansen Inc. —Enda McCormack died September 28 at age 34 after several months of illness. McCormack began his career with Milwaukee-based Chr. Hansen in the United Kingdom in 1994 after graduating from UC Cork, Ireland. After a period with the company in Australia, McCormack moved to the United States in 2001 specifically to introduce Easy-Set™ dairy cultures to customers. He later became regional sales manager for dairy on the West Coast, and was instrumental in introducing the Easy-Set product series.
