The Dannon Co. Inc. — Juan Carlos Dalto has been appointed president and chief executive officer of the Tarrytown, N.Y.-based company. Dalto joined Dannon’s parent company Groupe Danone in 1997 and has served as chief executive officer of Danone Portugal and president and chief executive officer of Danone Italia.
Kraft Foods Inc. — Mark Berlind will join the Northfield, Ill.-based company in October as executive vice president of global corporate affairs.
Rich Dairy Products Inc. — Francis Leverone has been promoted to vice president of marketing and sales for the Marshfield, Mass.-based company.
Sargento Foods Inc. — Kathy Ott has been promoted to customer service manager and Mike McEvoy  to transportation manager for the Plymouth, Wis.-based cheesemaker.

B&H Labeling Systems — Roman Eckols has been named president and chief executive officer of the Ceres, Calif.-based company.
FKI Logistex — The Danville, Ky.-based company has made the following personnel changes: Dave Baker has been appointed president of FKI Logistex Manufacturing Systems Division; John Kelly has been appointed president of FKI Logistex Airport, Post and Parcel Division; John Westendorf has been appointed president of FKI Logistex Warehouse & Distribution Division; and Todd Ploudre has been promoted to controller and Kevin Brophy to manager of financial analysis for the company’s FKI Logistex Manufacturing Systems North America.
Fristam Pumps Inc. — John Yazek has joined the Middleton, Wis.-based company as sales manager for the Fristam’s American operations.
R&D SUPPLIERS
California Custom Fruits and Flavors (CCFF) — Jack Miller has joined the Irwindale, Calif.-based company as director of operations. Miller will oversee all aspects of manufacturing, quality assurance and warehousing in efforts to help the company with its recent expansion.
David Michael & Co. — Mike Pulizzi has joined the Philadelphia-based company as associate account manager. Ed Albaugh has been promoted to senior flavor chemist, Frank Calabro has been promoted to senior food technologist and Jack Fastag has become a certified member of the Society of Flavor Chemists. Fastag graduated from David Michael’s flavor chemists training program and has been working with the company for almost 12 years. The company also announces the following additions to its international facilities: Virginie Naranjo has joined Daroma David Michael as account manager responsible for the southwestern territory of France; Mickael Vallon has joined Daroma David Michael in production; Nathalie Pauleau has joined the technical team in France working as a color engineer; and David Michael de Mexico welcomes Julio Reyes to its technical team.
DSM Food Specialties USA Inc. has been named vice president of savory ingredients for Menomonee Falls, Wis.-based company. Lulay brings to the company a management leadership track record with significant experience in business development, strategic planning, marketing and R&D.

Wisconsin Dairy Products Association (WDPA) —  The following WDPA officers were elected at the 2004 Dairy Symposium in July: Bill Koch of Level Valley Creamery as president, Stu Giffin of Land O’Lakes as vice president and Greg Kinate of Kineva Foods as treasurer. The following four members were newly elected to the board of directors for three-year terms: LaVern Stencil, Marathon Cheese; Tony Meda, Kraft Foods; Ron Kremer, Kerry Ingredients; and Steve Funk, Degussa BioActives. The following four members were approved for three-year terms: Dave Robbins, Dean Foods; Tom Miskowski, Century Foods International, Jeff Giffin, Masters Gallery; and Jim Bleick, Graf Creamery.
