Norwalk, CT.  PDC International Corp., a world leader in the development and manufacturing of shrink sleeve applicators and sleeve labeling systems, has introduced its 65 Series Shrinksealer.

The 65 Series systems are dual-use, mid-level packaging systems engineered for continuous production, or contract sleeving.  Systems are usable for two distinctive shrink sleeving applications.

Shrink sleeve labeling, which involves full height bodysleeve labels that contain primary graphics, are applied with highest consistency using 65 Series machines. These are ideal for jars, bottles and products of all descriptions.  The sleeve label can be designed to extend up over the cap, with a horizontal perforation for consumer tamper evidence.

Several iterations of Tamper Evident Banding are applied with the 65 Series as well.   Neckbanding, which is the application of a shrink sleeve around the upper portion of a container and its closure, is an ideal application; the 65 Series also produces full height safety seals.  This full body, clear sleeves protect the primary label and container, and cover the closure.  They are popularly used for vitamins and similar products.

65 Series machines operate at 50 to 175 cpm (containers per minute) with maximum speeds dependent on the package dimensions.  Sleeve diameter range is .375 to 3.25 inches (10 - 83 mm).  Sleeve height range is .625 to 8 inches (15 -200 mm).

PDC 65 Series machines are compatible with all petroleum-based and sustainable films, including PVC, PET, PETG, OPS and PLA films.

65 Series Systems have many high-value features standard, including full safety enclosure, heavy duty mechanical construction, Allen-Bradley PLC control, keyed run/jog switch and upstream photo-eyes.  Systems also have motorized material unwind, and material-out sensors.

Options allow equipment to be customized with additional sensors (film applicators, splice detection, imprint verification, etc.) as well as power transformers, motorized height adjustment, servo feed motor and touch screen operator interface.

Like all PDC packaging systems, the 65 Series was designed using off-the-shelf, readily available components, which assures that cost of ownership remains low throughout the system’s long service life.   Systems incorporate field-proven controls technology and can be UL approved.

Test demonstrations can be arranged at our new headquarters, which features extensive R&D capabilities and the ability to run a broad range of films and production speeds.  Contact Gary Tantimonico, PDC Int’l Corp., 203-853-1516 or sales@pdc-corp.com
