General Mills’ Yoplait keeps the Greek yogurt bandwagon running with a new on-the-go dairy product. The brand has introduced Yoplait Smoothies with Greek yogurt. The smoothies, which also feature frozen fruit and juice, can be made by adding 3/4 cup of skim milk and blending.
According to Maija Aittola, a Yoplait marketing manager, “each smoothie provides 10 grams of protein when prepared with milk and are sweetened with all-natural stevia.”
It’s available in a 4.5-ounce freezer package that yields a single 12-ounce serving. The smoothies are available in mixed berry and strawberry-banana-orange flavors. The suggested retail price is $2.99.
Earlier this month Yoplait also introduced a 100-calorie Greek yogurt to its line, following the trend of portion-controlled snacks. The company originally added regular frozen smoothies to its line in 2009. General Mills is based in Minneapolis.
