• London-based Tate & Lyle celebrated the recent opening of its new sales office in Australia with a cocktail party for customers and suppliers. Among the 55 attendees at the event were representatives from the company’s customers. Guests were served a range of 50 percent sugar-reduced cocktails made with Splenda® sucralose and fiber-enriched nibbles, all formulated by Tate & Lyle’s food scientists as part of its recently launched Enrich service. In other company news, Tate & Lyle will acquire an 80 percent holding in German specialty food ingredients group G.C. Hahn.
• Milwaukee-based Wixon Inc., a food ingredients
and product development company, has won an IQ (Innovative Quotient) Award
for the creation and development of its Mag-nifique line of flavor
technologies. The award, which honors 10 of the most innovative companies
in the southeastern Wisconsin region, is given by the Wisconsin Technology
Council and the Small Business Times, a southeastern Wisconsin business publication.

Industries Ltd. has acquired 85 percent of Pharmline Holding Inc.,
Florida, N.Y., shares. Pharmline processes and markets ingredients and
premixes to the nutraceuticals market in North America.
