OBITUARIES
Prairie Farms Dairy Inc. — Don Kullman, 68, an industry consultant and a former vice president of the Carlinville, Ill.-based cooperative, died May 31. Kullman was one of the first members of the IDFA’s Grass Roots Action Network for Dairy (GRAND) and won the first GRAND Pioneer Award in 2002.
University of Wisconsin Elmer Marth, 78, professor emeritus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and well-known food-safety expert, died June 19. In recognition of his lifelong dedication to researching and teaching cheese safety, Marth received the National Cheese Institute Laureate Award in 2004.
