Dairy Marketers Get Cultured in this Week's FSIs

    By James Carper
    May 23, 2011

Dairy processors promote yogurt, dips, cottage cheese and salad dressing in this week’s free-standing inserts. Jamba Juice touts its retail smoothie line, Marzetti has a yogurt veggie dip and Kraft’s Breakstone challenges yogurt on protein content. Elsewhere: Unilever (Magnum, Breyers and Country Crock), Mars Chocolates’ cheese-filled Combos, Sargento and more.

FSI report for the week beginning May 22, 2011

Cultured dairy products star in this week’s free-standing inserts.
Jamba Inc. introduces its all-natural Smoothies line which is sold in grocery stores. Users add juice to a nonfat yogurt base available in four flavors. The company offers a $1 coupon toward the purchase of any 8-ounce SKU.

Kraft’s Breakstone’s makes the bold claim: “Our new cottage cheese can beat up your yogurt.” A secondary headline states: “8 grams of protein. Beat that.” The marketer offers a 75-cent coupon toward the purchase of any three doubles SKUs and $1 toward the purchase of any four-pack SKU.

    T. Marzetti Co. promotes its new Otria veggie dip made with Greek yogurt, available in five flavors. The FSI mentions the dip’s Omega 3 content. The company offers a $1 coupon toward the purchase of any Otria SKU. Separately, Marzetti directs shoppers online for recipes calling for its blue cheese salad dressing.

Mars Inc. proclaims “Big cheese flavor in every bite!” of its Combos snacks. It directs shoppers to its Facebook page.
