The California Milk Advisory Board (CMAB), Tracy, Calif., announced the finalists in the 2021 Real California Pizza Contest (RCPC) — a search for the best foodservice pizza recipes using “Real California Cheese.”

The dairy checkoff, managed by Rosemont, Ill.-based Dairy Management Inc. (DMI), launched a new wave of the Undeniably Dairy campaign to create deeper connections between Gen Z and dairy and give them new reasons to choose it over other products.

Irish dairy cooperative Ornua said it completed the acquisition of U.S. cheese ingredients business Whitehall Specialties Inc., Whitehall, Wis., for an undisclosed sum from Mason Wells, a private equity firm based in Milwaukee. 

TC Transcontinental Packaging, Chicago said it opened its ASTRA Center — the Art, Science and Technology Research and Applications Center — based in Menasha, Wis.

Danone Institute North America, a not-for-profit established by White Plains, N.Y.- and Broomfield, Colo.-based Danone North America, announced the five winning teams of the "One Planet. One Health" Initiative — a grant program that promotes resilient and sustainable local food systems.

California Dairies Inc. (CDI), Visalia, Calif., said Secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture Karen Ross and other state and local officials joined the cooperative on Sept. 29 for a groundbreaking ceremony in Kern County, Calif., at the future site of CDI’s new ultra-high temperature and extended shelf-life milk processing facility.

The 18th annual World Dairy Expo Championship Dairy Product Contest auction was held on Sept. 28 at World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wis. 

On Sept. 29, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced a comprehensive set of investments to address challenges facing America’s agricultural producers. These include assistance to address challenges and costs associated with drought, animal health, market disruptions for agricultural commodities, and school food-supply chain issues. 

Green Bay, Wis.-based Hart Design & Manufacturing announced a new strategic alliance and partnership with Modena, Italy-based MilkyLAB.
