Nikken Foods USA Inc. is moving to a new location at 4984 Manchester Ave., St. Louis. The move was scheduled for mid-February.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held during the recent meetings of the Nikken Foods board of directors visiting from Japan. The ceremonial green ribbon was cut by Kourin Ochi, chief financial officer, and Hirotsugu Yamanishi, managing director global sales, Nikken Foods Corp. Ltd., Tokyo.

“The new, larger distribution center and U.S. corporate offices will accommodate our growing customer demand for our products,” explained Herbert Bench, executive vice president, Nikken Foods USA Inc.

Also participating in the ceremony were Bench; George Armenta, president, Lilar Corp.; K. Sato, president, Nikken Foods USA; Kengo Hayashi, North America manager, Nikken Foods Corp.; and the Nikken Foods USA staff.

The new distribution center and corporate office is 20% larger than the current space and provides three dock doors and a loading ramp. In addition to the expanded distribution center, the facility will also house the company’s new modern corporate offices and its state-of-the-art application kitchen, a fully functional test kitchen used for research and development.
