Unfrozen Novelty

An attempt to erect the world's largest water ice treat in Manhattan's Union square ended with a kiwi-strawberry flood that sent pedestrians scurrying for higher ground in June. A 17-ton, 18-feet tall frozen Snapple melted faster than expected in the summer heat and firefighters closed off streets and used hoses to wash away the mess.

Rutter's to the Rescue

Rutter's Dairy and Farm Stores and another family venture in York, Pa., recently donated $25,000 to United Cerebral Palsy of South Central Pennsylvania. The money will be used to purchase a handicapped-accessible van.

Danone to Ukraine

French Group Danone plans to set up dairy production in Ukraine. According to reports, production may be launched as early as this year. Danone has two Russian facilities, and currently exports product to Ukraine.

Got Milk? not only sells milk, it will soon help sell baby clothes and boxers as well. Beginning this month, licensing specialist MjC Corp. will bring a line of clothing items, some of them co-licensed with characters like Sesame Street's Cookie Monster, to retail chains including Wal-Mart and Target.
