This convention is different from other trade events because attendees will spend a majority of their time in face-to-face business meetings with the trading partners of their choice. NFRA provides its retailer members with complimentary meeting rooms so they may hold appointments throughout the convention. Last year’s event united over 1,300 attendees from every segment of the frozen and refrigerated foods industry to network and conduct business.
From beginning to end, the convention is structured to help attendees make valuable connections. The event kicks off with the popular Taste of Excellence Reception on Sunday, October 7, where frozen and refrigerated food manufacturers can showcase their latest products. The Taste of Excellence allows delegates the opportunity to interact with industry colleagues while sampling the newest items in frozen and refrigerated foods.
This year’s agenda features Monday morning breakfast speaker Chris Wallace, Fox News analyst. During Tuesday’s breakfast session, former Republican presidential candidate Pat Buchanan and Democratic political strategist Donna Brazile engage in a point/counterpoint debate on the upcoming election.
Closing the convention on Tuesday, a special Awards Reception & Banquet will honor several top contributors to the frozen food industry as the newest inductees into the Frozen Food Hall of Fame. The evening will also recognize the 2012 Golden Penguin winners for March Frozen Food Month, June Dairy Month and June/July Ice Cream & Novelties promotions.
It’s recommended that attendees register by June 1 so their name is included in the first registration list. This list is provided to all registrants so they can schedule business meetings before arriving in Washington, DC. To register for this year’s convention, contact NFRA at (717) 657-8601 or visit www.NFRAweb.org/meetings.
