    Got Milk Campaign Strikes Out With Baseball

    You could see this one coming like a hung breaking ball. The new "controversy" ad campaign from "got milk?" has caused, well... a controversy. The tongue-in-cheek campaign positions milk as a performance enhancer and pokes fun at baseball's steroid scandal. Major League baseball is not too pleased with the ads, according to statements given to a San Francisco newspaper.

    MILC Program in Limbo

    Last month the House Budget Committee passed its budget reconciliation package without including a renewal of the Milk Income Loss Contract (MILC) program.

    Lifeway, Dean and Dreyer's Boost Sales, Earnings

    Lifeway Foods Inc., the Illinois-based makers of kefir, saw third quarter sales jump 26% to $5.2 million from $4.1 million for the same period a year ago. Earnings increased to $.07 per share for the quarter, from $.06 per share for the same three-month period in 2004.
