• International Paper, Memphis, has signed two definitive agreements related to the sales of its beverage packaging and Arizona Chemical businesses for combined proceeds of approximately $985 million. The transactions are both subject to adjustments and conditions at closing, including receipt of regulatory approvals. The company says the agreements are part of its transformation plan.
• Cincinnati-based Total
Quality Logistics (TQL) has been recognized by Selling Power Magazine as
the Transportation Organization of the Year. TQL received this prestigious
award at the Stevie Awards Gala in December. Selling Power Magazine is
a leading publication directed at sales professionals and distributed
throughout the United States and 67 countries worldwide. The Selling Power

Inc. (3-A SSI), McLean, Va., has announced the availability of a new

Sanitary Standards include Machine Leveling Feet and Supports, Number
88-00; Compression-Type Valves for Milk and Milk Products, Number 53-03;
3-A Sanitary Standards for Multiple-Use Plastic Materials, Number 20-24,
Sanitary Standards for Centrifugal Separators and Clarifiers, Number 21-01;

• Mintel, London, has
collaborated with Chicago-based Information Resources Inc. (IRI), to launch
GNPD IRIS, a unique tool positioned to reduce the cost of new product
development. GNPD IRIS, a product that works in conjunction with the Mintel
Global New Products Database (GNPD), allows CPG companies to monitor the
sales successes and failures of new products and established brands.
