UK dairy group Arla Foods has seen its profits more than double in the six months ending March 31, as improved sales and cost-cutting measures benefited the company. Arla, which makes Cravendale milk and Lurpak butter, said its pretax profit rose to more than $17.5 million, from about $8.7 million in the same period the previous year.
