Spirulina Extract Now Authorized As A Natural Blue Coloring Ingredient In The US For A Large Range Of Food Applications

On April 10th, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the use of Spirulina extract as a natural blue coloring ingredient in an expanded range of aplications , beyond the recently authorized gums and candies.

diana color impactAs part of its COLOR’IMPACT offer, DIANA provides its customers with spirulina based solutions for the corresponding applications including gums, candies, ice cream, frozen desserts and yogurts.

DIANA COLOR’IMPACT offers a full rainbow of natural colors. Beside blue color, DIANA uses spirulina extract to provide natural colors from green to purple shades. Available in powder or liquid, these solutions offer customers the insurance of high quality products as DIANA guarantees a mastery of upstream spirulina selection.

As Olivier Cima, in charge of DIANA’s color strategy, highlights : "This authorization is a great opportunity for Diana and its customers. Our spirulina based solutions have no preservatives, dyes, pesticides or irradiation used in production.
