Kraft Foods plans to discontinue its Milk Bite granola bar snacks in early 2013 and Nestle USA has discontinued its Skinny Cow shakes and Wonka premium ice cream for 2013, Dairy Foods has learned.

The editors of Dairy Foods named Milk Bite one of 10 Best New Dairy Products of 2012. They also nominated Skinny Cow Shake Stirs and Wonka premium ice cream.

The editorial staff selected 10 foods and foods, based on innovation, taste, packaging and nutrition. The magazine also nominated 15 other new launches and invited dairy processors, their customers and consumers to review all 25 products and vote for their favorites in a "people's choice" poll that runs through Jan. 15.

As of Jan. 1, the leading foods in this poll are:

• Lucerne chocolate whipping cream
• Kaurina's kulfi bars
• Lifeway coconut-chia kefir
• Organic Valley organic American cheese singles
