The AOAC Research Institute granted a method extension for the DuPont BAX System real-time PCR assays for Listeria to include validation of a new proprietary enrichment media. This method can return Listeria results in just 22 hours for some matrices. The AOAC-RI method allows customers to perform a single-stage, 20-26 hour enrichment (sample-dependent) in FoodChek Actero Listeria Enrichment Media, followed by rapid real-time processing with the BAX System. The extension includes detection of both Listeria species and L. monocytogenes.

Sensient Technologies is expanding its manufacturing facility in Amboy, Ill. The expansion is part of the company's efforts to streamline the global operations of its Flavors & Fragrances business. It will add 36,000 square feet of additional space in order to increase its manufacturing capacity and add additional capabilities to serve customers in the dairy, confection and bakery markets. 

TIC Gums now provides organic texture and stability solutions with TICorganic hydrocolloid systems. Certified under the USDA National Organic Program, the organic products cover a wide range of applications, including specialty systems for dairy and beverages.

Symrise AG will acquire Flavor Infusion, a specialized supplier for natural beverage solutions in North America. The acquisition will strengthen its product offering for natural beverage applications, according to the company.

Coveris acquired Elldex Packaging Solutions, a New Zealand-based full-service flexible packaging company. 

Greatview Aseptic Packaging, a supplier of aseptic carton packaging material for the beverage and dairy industries, announced that 100% of the paperboard purchased for production at its factory in Halle, Germany, is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
