I’m thrilled that we’re just about to launch the Great American Milk Drive - the first-ever nationwide program that will encourage consumers to donate milk to hungry families. This is truly an unprecedented partnership that unites the nation’s milk processors and dairy farmers with Feeding America, the leading domestic hunger-relief charity. It’s a big idea that we think has the potential to make a difference for our industry, and for millions of Americans.

As the launch of the campaign nears (on April 2), we want to make sure you have all the details about how to be a part of the campaign. You can visit the Great American Milk Drive online headquarters at www.MilkPEP.org/Drive for tools, information and more.

Here are two things you can do now:

  1. Sign Up to Make a Social Splash: Help generate social media conversation by committing to share your Great American Milk Drive support via a Facebook Status or Tweet. Your committed Facebook posts and Tweets will then be blasted at a pre-determined time to create a wave of attention, a Thunderclap. This collective voice will help cut through the noise and bring attention to this important initiative. Click here for all the details on how to join this effort.
  2. Tune into the Launch: Watch live on April 2 at 11:45AM EST at www.milklife.com/give as we shine a spotlight on the issue of hunger in America. Whether using the footage to engage your employees or leveraging it on your social channels, this is a great way to kick off the drive and raise awareness – and excitement – about the effort.

We know the Great American Milk Drive is a big idea. We know consumers, retailers and the industry are excited and motivated to make a difference in the lives of hungry families across the country. Now, it’s up to all of us to spread the word and move consumers to action. Join us as we help nourish our nation.
