This annual scholarship, sponsored by PMMI member company Garvey Corp. and established in memory of Mark C. Garvey, honors students who exemplify leadership, academic excellence, and a dedication to advancing the packaging industry. While the growth rate is projected to slow to 2.5% in 2024, the 2025 forecast calls for an upturn in growth rates to reach a high of 8.0% in 2027. This slowdown in 2024 is expected to be the next low point in the industry’s usual peak-to-trough sales cycle, typically lasting three to five years.

Founded in 1984, CTI’s business focuses on designing and manufacturing custom packaging, including stand-alone trays, container dunnage, precision rack dunnage, seat pallets, and kitting trays.

With the ability to simulate the widest range of retort processes of any university lab, three retorts will be used to evaluate new retort packaging materials and shelf-stable food formulations, conduct pilot tests for food and pet food companies, study the effects of retort processes on food products, and train students and industry personnel on the latest retort processing equipment and software, Clemson stated.

PACK EXPO International 2024 is returning to Chicago's McCormick Place Nov. 3 to 6. The event, produced by PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, will connect 45,000 packaging and processing professionals.

Developed by PMMI’s Emerging Leaders Committee, the awards program recognizes 10 young professionals who have demonstrated leadership potential in packaging and processing.

Ongoing upgrades to labeling, shrink sleeve, and printing technologies are enabling dairy processors to enhance the aesthetic appeal of products while displaying more information.

More 100 permanent jobs will be created, and the new production facility is expected to start production in the first half of 2025.
