    Personal Protective Wear
Disposable/reusable VR™ Protective Boots & Shoe Covers are for use in dairy processing and dairy farms where potential contamination from infectious material can endanger product and dairy stock. Perfect for minimizing the potential for cross contamination, VR Protective Boots and Shoe Covers (with elastic tops for added splash protection), provide impervious protection against biological and chemical pollutants. VR Boots provide knee-high foot and lower-leg coverage, with VR Shoe Covers providing full coverage of foot and work shoe. The company’s PolyWear Personal Protective Disposable Gowns offer impervious lightweight protection to safeguard against the transfer of potentially infectious diseases in food, meat and dairy plants. The gowns are ideal for use in processing facilities where biological cross contamination from infectious material can endanger the supply chain. — PolyConversions Inc., 505 Condit Drive, Rantoul, Ill., 61866, phone: (888) 893-3330, Web site: www.polyconversions.com
    Overhead Stretch Wrapper
Lantech’s new S-1200 automatic overhead stretch wrapper is pre-engineered for lean manufacturing and can be extensively customized with over 100 off-the-shelf options, such as the patented Pallet-Grip load locking system and 6000-pound capacity conveyor. Designed for conveyorized feed, in-line, end-of-line or freestanding to allow load accumulation, the S-1200 can wrap 30 to 45 loads per hour, providing economical use of film with Lantech’s Roller-Stretch system that pre-stretches the film up to 300 percent. The S-1200 utilizes the company’s patented single-leg chassis design that is compact and allows quick installation with existing conveyor lines. — Lantech.com, 11000 Bluegrass Parkway, Louisville, Ky., 40299-2399, phone: (800) 866-0322, Web site: www.lantech.com
    Boiler Efficiency
Miura has developed high-capacity steam boilers for maximum efficiency. Designed for steam-starved, volatile demand processes, the boilers operate at peak effectiveness for the greatest energy savings and fastest response to fluctuating demand. The fuel-to-steam efficiency of Miura boilers remains consistently high at more than 85 percent at all steam loads from 35 percent to 100 percent. — Miura Boiler Inc., 600 Northgate Parkway, Suite M, Wheeling, Ill., 60090-3201, phone: (847) 465-0001, fax: (847) 465-0011, e-mail: chicago@miuraboiler.com, Web site: www.miuraboiler.com
    Liquid Line Traps
Cesco Magnetics’ series of aseptic, magnetic liquid line traps for 1 1/2-inch (38.25mm) to 4-inch (102mm) aseptic processing lines operate at up to 200 psi and temperatures of 150 degrees C. Machined from a solid block of 314 stainless steel, the AS series of MagTraps™ exceed 3A standards for sanitary fabrication. Powerful, long-lived, rare-earth magnets capture and hold trash or fines of ferrous, nickel, carbide and work-hardened stainless smaller than state-of-the-art metal detectors can sense to ensure product quality and prevent equipment damage in food, beverage, pharmaceutical and chemical processing operations. MagTraps allow pumped products to flow unimpeded through multiple intense magnetic fields, and the easy-to-clean AS design makes disposing of captured debris a fast and easy process. — Cesco Magnetics, 93 Utility Court, Rohnert Park, Calif., 94928, phone: (877) 624-8727, fax: (707) 585-3886, Web site: www.cescomagnetics.com
    Anti-Tamper Lock
By ensuring valves and actuators are only operated by authorized individuals, the Anti-Tamper Lock (ATL) from Smith Flow Control secures companies’ assets by reducing the risk of human error or deliberate tampering. The way the ATL works is very simple. The standard condition of the device in service is locked (key-free), with the handwheel free-rotating (the standard unit is available in two sizes to suit all lever and handwheel operated valves). Operation involves three simple steps: first, a coded key is inserted, engaging the drive; second, the valve is operated to the desired position; finally, the key is removed and the valve is locked in the desired position. For safety applications, the ATL’s housing is supplied in stainless steel coated with yellow polyester resin, while for security applications, locks are manufactured from hardened steel, with a protective security skirt. — Smith Flow Control, 21 Kenton Lands Road, Erlanger, Ky., 41018, phone: (859) 578-2395, fax: (859)-341-2302, e-mail: sales@smithflow.com, Web site: Web: www.smithflowcontrol.com
