KHS, a Germany maker of filling and packaging systems, opens a PET center in China
The lab in Shanghai is a mirror-image of the center in Hamburg, Germany.
Germany’s KHS, a manufacturer of filling and packaging systems used in dairy processing plants, opened a PET competence center in Shanghai, China. KHS said it is investing “in one of the biggest PET growth markets in the world.”
"The distances are much shorter, time and costs are saved and we speak the local language: these are very good reasons for us to now also provide 40 years of KHS PET expertise in China, with our own lab and bottle design," according to a statement by Frank Haesendonckx, head of technology at KHS Corpoplast.
Leo Zhang and David Gropmann head KHS’s Bottles & Shapes operation in Shanghai. The technology, Series IV lab machine and bottle design program in China is almost a mirror image of the PET competence center in Hamburg, Germany, according to the company.
