Benelact hits new benchmark with 45% cholesterol reduction in cheddar

Alliance Enterprises of SE Wisconsin announces achieving a new standard in cholesterol reduction. Through its proprietary Benelact process, the company was able to reduce the cholesterol in cheddar cheese by 45%.

In recent product testing, Alliance Enterprises’ Research and Development team in collaboration with Cedar Grove Cheese was able to significantly increase the amount of cholesterol reduction versus previous testing. Prior to April 2009, the process removed 25% of cholesterol from cheese.

An all-natural process, Benelact removes cholesterol from dairy products without altering the original taste and mouthfeel. Nutritional content remains intact, as well as the shelf life of the products. Introduced in 2007, the exclusive process allows food manufacturers to create more choices while meeting consumer demand for healthier food options.
