B&H Labeling Systems

B&H Labeling Systems’ new Marathon™ XL is a roll-fed labeler that features SMARTdrive™, an all-electronic drive train. With a servomotor-driven feed screw and container stabilization features, the Marathon XL handles containers from 8 oz. to 3 liters at speeds up to 650 containers per minute. Five independent servomotors communicate on a high-speed digital bus to precisely synchronize component operations such as label feeding, cutting, gluing and container transport. B&H guarantees labeling defect rates of less than 0.05% with all Marathon roll-fed labelers. Fewer moving parts improve reliability, ease maintenance and increase uptime. Marathon XL achieves changeovers in less than 15 minutes from one full production speed to another, including the replacement of change parts.

Johnson Refrigerated Truck Bodies

Stainless steel cam lock hardware, which offers strength and a longer usable life than chrome or powder coated hardware, is announced by Johnson Refrigerated Truck Bodies. Stainless hardware is an option for new truck bodies, or it can be used to replace rusted hardware on older truck bodies.

The hardware has a lower silhouette due to the fact that it does not protrude beyond the walls as far as other hardware. In addition, the cam lock hardware has stainless steel set screws and take-up adjustment, which increase or decrease the door gasket pressure. The use of nylon bushings at wear points increases hardware longevity.

The new hardware is available in two-, three-, and four-point cam locks with or without internal release. They are designed for coolers and freezers, truck bodies and trailers.

New Production Line Built to Meet Product Demand

CHARLOTTE, N.C.-based Roberts PolyPro Inc., a leader in multi-packing solutions for the beverage industry, announces a plastic sheet production line to meet the growing demand for the company’s EasyLift Bottle Carrier products. Roberts PolyPro manufactures a comprehensive line of EasyLift Bottle Carriers including Single, 2 Pack, 3 Pack, 4 Pack, 5 Pack, 6 Pack and 8 Pack Carriers. The Roberts PolyPro team can also design and manufacture custom carriers for unique products to meet specific marketing and packaging needs.

Planning for the new sheet line began in early 2004 and the decision was made to build the new production line in-house. “There were two main factors in our decision,” explains Donnie Johnson, plastics manufacturing manager. “The first was the cost associated with purchasing a turnkey job and the second was the lead time associated with a project of this size. These reasons, combined with the fact that we’ve been a specialty machinery manufacturer for more than 20 years, made the decision an obvious one: Buy individual components and then marry them into one complete line. We saved a lot of time and money this way.”
