Chr. Hansen Inc., Milwaukee, has made some significant changes to its executive team. David R. Carpenter was appointed pres./CEO for North America, following the resignation of Donald Combs on January 4. Carpenter has been Chr. Hansen since 1999 in various positions. In addition, Don Cox was promoted to sr. v.p. of sales and marketing. Cox, who has been with the company 11 years, is now responsible for the overall direction of the sales and marketing organization in North America.

Main Street Ingredients, La Crosse, Wis., a leader in providing high quality food ingredients to the dairy, nutritional and food processing industries, has appointed of Chad Miller to the position of CFO. Miller, a CPA, most recently served as manager of La Crosse-based McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, a leading national CPA firm.

Gram Equipment has entered into an agreement with Stormax International regarding the transfer of all worldwide activities related to Automatic Stick Inserters and Cup Filling Machines with related equipment for the ice cream industry. All activities in Stormax International related to ice cream machinery will be transferred to Gram Equipment A/S, Vojens, Denmark and Gram Equipment of America Inc, Tampa, Fla., effective April 1.

Seal-It, Farmingdale, N.Y., has been named by Crain's New York Business as one of the Top 200 privately owned companies in New York City, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester counties and New Jersey. Seal-It's heat shrink films are used by leading beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic and chemical manufacturers throughout the United States. Seal-It prints up to 10 colors in either rotogravure or modified flexographic.

The acquisition of the North American specialty phosphates business of Rhodia by Bain Capital has been completed. The company has launched operations as an independent business under a new corporate name-Innophos Inc., which signifies the innovation in phosphates that has been the cornerstone of its success. Innophos has seven plants in North America and employs approximately 1,100 people.
