New Supraliminal Labs Red Stuff from Funktional Beverages, Inc., Tomball, Texas, is a hybrid sports drink that claims to provide energy, appetite control and calorie-burning benefits. Red Stuff is packaged in an 8-ounce plastic resealable bottle and has a suggested retail of $2.99.

“The taste of Red Stuff is like fresh fruit,” says Darrell Duchesneau, co-founder and CEO. “You can smell the fresh aroma of the flavors. Red Stuff Energy hinges its appetite control on the only fiber in the world to expand 200 times its original size only after reaching the stomach. This is why Red Stuff leaves the consumer’s hunger satiated.’

The fiber is derived from the Amorphophallus Propol konjac root, a plant native only to Japan where the ingredient is produced. It is a water-soluble dietary fiber ingredient and has more than 14 safety studies and 60 clinical trials supporting its function of assisting with satiety.
