Cheese production in the United States continued its long-term upward trend in 2007, reaching a record high of 9.7 billion pounds and increasing 1.8 percent over the previous year. The 2008 edition of Dairy Facts, published by IDFA and Dairy Foods magazine, provides a comprehensive overview of 2007 sales, consumption and production data for the dairy foods industry. This 120-page booklet offers an excellent summary of the overall health of the U.S. dairy industry and dairy trends.
Delivered in an easy-to-use format, Dairy Facts provides information from government and private market research sources on the fluid milk, cultured dairy, cheese, and ice cream and frozen desserts markets. It is organized in five quick-reference sections: general product information, production statistics, sales and consumption figures, pricing data and international market data.
The data was compiled and reviewed by IDFA's economic analysis division, led by Vice President Bob Yonkers, Ph.D.
