Chr. Hansen says it has experienced growth in all business areas and regions in 2005/06, and has expectations for continued growth in the coming year, both organically and through acquisitions. It also expects improvements in profit margin. Total revenue was increased by 8% in the last year, and organic growth amounted to 6%. Geographically, all regions have experienced growth, but the strongest was the organic growth in South America with 13%. The organic growth in North America has, after some difficult years, reached an impressive 8%.


Ocean Nutrition Canada has agreed to an exclusive distribution partnership in Mexico with FX Morales y Asociados. The partnership will allow Ocean Nutrition Canada to expand its food ingredient sales into the important Mexican market. FX Morales y Asociados is a premier food ingredient distributor in Mexico.


Forbes Chocolate is relocating its headquarters, plant and main warehouse facilities. Currently located in Cleveland, Ohio, they will be moving to 800 Ken Mar Industrial Parkway in Broadview Heights, Ohio roughly 10 miles south of Cleveland and 1.5 miles from the current location.


MeadWestvaco Corp.’s Consumer Solutions Group, presented the prize in its Winning Tastes Good sweepstakes during this year’s Pack Expo. The company awarded a $500 grand prize gift certificate to Larry Litchfield, Keurig manager, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters.


Norse Dairy Systems and Virginia Dare presented samples of their “Winning Combinations” product concepts at a new tasting pavilion at Process Expo in late October. The Food Processing Suppliers Association says the show, which is co-located with Pack Expo, experienced growth in all areas compared to 2004. The tasting pavilion was sponsored by Dairy Foods and Prepared Foods magazines.
